This is a curious article. The first time I read it, I didn't understand anything past the "Bridge 101". Then I read more articles and when I came back, I found this article extremely informative. In short, it's a precious summary for those who know the topic already but hopeless for the newcomers. Maybe you could take time to split it into 3 articles and explain more slowly. For example
-The illustrations with 2 chains and a bridge between them would gain to be commented (external validators, light clients and liquidity networks)
- The star diagram of the trade-offs (capital efficiency, connectivity, security etc.) would be wonderful once explained more
- same for the section and the table about "trusted", "bonded", and "insured" bridges
- the section "summarizing trade-offs" would be worth an article by itself, same for "future" etc.
